Encarant la nova dreta radical al sud d’Europa

El Workshop de Democràcia i Participació de la Fundació Nexe arriba a la seua quarta edició i enguany el centrem en un tema que ens preocupa i que volem analitzar amb profunditat: la nova dreta radical al sud d’Europa. La jornada, que es porta a terme gràcies a la col·laboració del Coppieters Foundation, tindrà lloc el divendres 31 de maig a l’Octubre Centre de Cultura Contemporània de València. 

Les conseqüències socials i polítiques de la Gran Recessió de 2008, així com de les polítiques d’austeritat implantades a tot el sud d’Europa, encara són hui visibles. La desigualtat social s’ha disparat, la polarització ha augmentat i la indignació o el cabreig amb la política i els polítics està provocant profunds re-alineaments en sistemes de partits que havien estat estables durant dècades. En la part dretana de l’espectre polític, l’avenç d’Aurora Daurada l’any 2012 a Grècia va ser un primer senyal d’aquest nou fenomen que després es va estendre a França. Entre 2014 i 2017 el Front Nacional no només va aconseguir resultats extraordinaris en les eleccions europees i presidencials,  sinó que a més els principals partits de la dreta moderada pràcticament han quedat reduïts a posicions marginals. A Itàlia, el final de l’era de Berlusconi ha permés la mutació de la Lliga Nord des del regionalisme a un nou projecte de dreta radical liderat per Salvini. A l’Estat espanyol, la combinació de la crisi social i econòmica, els conflictes territorials i els intermitents bloqueigs polítics i institucionals ha alimentat el creixement de VOX i altres forces de la dreta. Fins ara, Portugal sembla ser la principal excepció d’esta tendència, però això podria acabar-se en les pròximes eleccions europees del 2019.

L’objectiu d’este Workshop del LAB de Democràcia i Participació és interpretar els resultats de les eleccions al Parlament Europeu de 2019 en el marc de les transformacions més generals que estan experimentant els sistemes de partits del sud d’Europa. Pensem que el Workshop és una bona ferramenta per a reunir acadèmics europeus, espanyols i valencians, periodistes, estudiants compromesos, polítics i altres grups d’interés per a analitzar les principals causes d’esta transformació i, sobretot, de les seues implicacions més àmplies.

La conferència es dividirà en tres panels delimitats per les respectives arenes polítiques en l’àmbit internacional, estatal i regional. El primer analitzarà el cas grec, francés, italià, portugués. El segon i tercer panels se centraran a l’Estat espanyol i el País Valencià i versaran sobre el paper marginal que històricament ha tingut la dreta radical així com les raons i implicacions del creixement electoral de l’extrema dreta en l’actualitat.
